Vigland Park was designed by Gustav Vigland (1869-1943). It covers 80 acres and has 212 bronze and granite sculptures. The Frognerbroen has 58 bronze sculptures and 4 groups of granite lizards. The children's square has 8 small bronze sculptures including the popular sinnataggen or Angry Boy. The labyrinth square holds the fountain. The monolith plateau is surrounded by 8 artistic gates and steps up to the 46.32 ft high monolith tower. The monolith is composed of 121 human figures rising to the sky. The plateau is surrounded by human figures respresenting the circle of life.
